The Denver Paramedic Division currently employs 107 full-time Paramedics and 35 full-time EMT-Basics, typically working four 10-hour shifts per week. These employees are supported by six Paramedic Lieutenants and ten Paramedic Captains who oversee field operations. Additionally, the Division employs a pool of intermittent Paramedics and EMTs to allow for extra staffing. These employees are required to work a minimum number of shifts per month so that they keep their clinical skills sharp.
The primary mission of the Denver Paramedic Division is to provide 911-ambulance service to the City and County of Denver. The Denver Paramedics also provide EMS services at Denver International Airport, and provide medical response to a wide variety of events and mass gatherings.
