EMERGENCY MEDICAL DISPATCHER

Denver Health’s Dispatchers provide a critical link between emergency crews and those who need their help. Our dispatchers work together with the police and fire department dispatchers as a part of Denver’s Combined Emergency Communications Center. Dispatchers are responsible for answering 911 calls and gathering information from callers, then relaying this information to the responding emergency crews. Dispatchers also provide crucial instructions to 911 callers while they await EMS arrival.
Applicants must have HS diploma or GED and basic computer skills. Candidates with previous emergency dispatch experience and/or EMD certification are preferred.
